7th January 2025 | The second series of the STI 100³ MOSTI Program was successfully held at SMK Tengku Afzan, engaging 97 enthusiastic Form 2 students eager to explore new knowledge.

Led by Ts. Dr. Asrul Bin Adam, the program was supported by three dedicated lecturers from the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM):

  • Ts. Dr. Muhammed Nafis Bin Osman
  • Dr. Mohamad Farid Bin Mohamad Syarif
  • Dr. Ismayuzri Bin Ishak

The program featured two exciting modules that captured the students' interest:

  1. Arduino Robot – Students learned to build, wire, and program robots.
  2. 3D Modelling – A creative activity where students designed products using 3D technology.

Combining theoretical knowledge and hands-on application, the program provided a meaningful and enjoyable way for students to explore the world of manufacturing and mechatronic engineering.

This initiative aims to inspire the younger generation to innovate, enhance their skills, and take bold steps into the world of STEM.

On 6th January 2025, the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully organized the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) 100³ Program Series 2 in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI). This program aimed to introduce practical technology elements to 107 Form 3 students and encourage them to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

AI Week FTKPM 2024: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Technology

 

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), through the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering Technology (FTKPM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), successfully organized the AI Creativity Competition 2024: Art in the Era of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI). The program aimed to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to the younger generation while fostering an interest in technological innovation through practical and engaging activities.

The closing ceremony of the competition was officiated by Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rosli Abdul Manaf, Deputy Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies) of FTKPM. Following the competition, the highlight of the AI Week FTKPM 2024, themed "Artificial Intelligence: Exploring the Future of Education and Careers," took place on December 17, 2024, at the UMPSA Language Center Hall.

The program also welcomed participation from 11 schools across Pahang, with over 250 students and teachers involved. Participating schools included:

10 December 2024 | The first series of the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) 100³ Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), successfully took place at SMK Tengku Afzan, Kuantan. This program saw the participation of 93 Form 4 students, focusing on building and launching rockets as a way to inspire interest in STEM.

Led by Ts. Dr. Asrul Bin Adam and supported by FTKPM lecturers, including Dr. Zubair Khalil, Ts. Dr. Nafrizuan Mat Yahya, Ts. Dr. Muhammed Nafis Osman Zahid, and En. Zulkifli Md Yusof, the program offered students the opportunity to engage in practical activities. Through these sessions, they not only learned how to design and launch rockets but also honed essential skills such as data collection, analysis, and decision-making.

The event was graced by the presence of the school principal, Puan Hajah Rosita, along with teachers and Hj. Fakhrul Anuar Zulkawi, a member of the Kuantan City Council, who extended their support to the initiative.

The STI 100³ program is designed to provide significant benefits to students by exposing them to hands-on STEM activities while fostering a deep interest in technological innovation.

On December 4, 2024, the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), successfully organized the Science Technology Innovation (STI) 100³ Program at SMK Seri Pekan, Pekan. The program engaged 100 students, divided into 20 groups, aiming to ignite their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through interactive activities.

27 November 2024 – The Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), successfully organized the Program Sains Teknologi Inovasi 100³ at SMK Tengku Panglima Perang Tengku Muhammad. The program attracted the participation of 267 students and aimed to foster interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through interactive activities such as Rocket Launcher, Popsicle Bridge Stick, Shock Absorber, Arduino Smart Robot, Robot Programming, and Additive Design and Technology.

This program was led by Dr. Muhammad Amirul bin Abdullah, a UMPSA scientist appointed by MOSTI, and supported by a team of 16 facilitators comprising FTKPM lecturers. Designed to provide hands-on exposure to technological innovation, the program encouraged creativity and deepened students’ interest in STEM fields.

The closing ceremony was officiated by YBrs. Encik Abdullah bin Daud, Secretary of the STI Culture and Services Division, MOSTI, and attended by Puan Juwita binti Jamaludin, the Principal of SMK Tengku Panglima Perang Tengku Muhammad. During the ceremony, MOSTI presented appointment letters to six UMPSA scientists, marking their commitment to realizing the vision of Program STI 100³.

FTKPM hopes this initiative will raise students’ awareness of career opportunities in STEM while strengthening ties between higher education institutions and schools, preparing future generations to lead in innovation and technology.

Inspiring Future STEM Leaders: Science, Technology, and Innovation 100^3 Program at SMK (P) Methodist, Kuantan

 

On 14th November 2024, the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully organized the Science, Technology, and Innovation 100^3 Program at SMK (P) Methodist, Kuantan. This initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), aimed to inspire 150 Form Three students to delve deeper into the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through interactive, hands-on activities.

The program featured a range of engaging modules designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of STEM, including:

  • Arduino Smart Robot
  • Robot Coding
  • Robot Soccer
