The Dean's Foreword
Welcome to the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).
At the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), we are committed to nurturing the next generation of engineers and innovators through excellence in teaching, impactful research, and meaningful industry engagement. Our vision is to be a leading provider of manufacturing and mechatronic engineering education and research, contributing to Malaysia’s industrial advancement and global competitiveness.
Currently, FTKPM offers one diploma programme, seven undergraduate programmes including the prestigious **dual-degree in Mechatronic Engineering (UMP–HsKA)** with Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (Germany) alongside Master’s (coursework) and PhD programmes. With a curriculum that blends theory, practice, and innovation, our graduates are well-prepared to become competent, creative, and ethical leaders in manufacturing design, processes, systems, and automation.
Research and development form the backbone of our faculty. With **70 academic staff** and strong national and international recognition, our research covers diverse areas such as advanced manufacturing, mechatronic systems, sustainable design, and smart automation. Industry collaboration ensures that our innovations not only push the boundaries of science but also deliver tangible solutions for real-world challenges.
We take pride in our close-knit academic community. The faculty’s size allows for strong mentor-student engagement, personalized guidance, and a collaborative environment that supports both academic and personal growth. With **16 dedicated administrative and technical staff**, we ensure that teaching, research, and student services run efficiently.
Guided by our mission:“To produce competent engineering graduates by providing excellent manufacturing engineering programmes and advancing wealth creation through research, development, commercialization, and consultation.”
We warmly invite students, parents, industry partners, and researchers to collaborate with us in advancing knowledge, innovation, and sustainable solutions. Together, let us chart the path toward a brighter and more sustainable future.
Best regards,
