BACHELOR OF MANUFACTURING
ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
(INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION)
The Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology (Industrial Automation) with Honours is a four-year engineering technology program designed to equip students with a broad foundation in manufacturing engineering sciences, with a focus on industrial automation, an increasingly vital field in the age of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In the early stages, students will be exposed to fundamental engineering technology subjects such as programming, computer-aided design and manufacturing, mechanics, thermal-fluids, electrical and electronics, and more. As they progress, students will specialize in industrial automation courses including sensor and instrumentation systems, industrial IoT, autonomous robotic systems, automated manufacturing systems, machine vision, and applied machine learning. Throughout the first three years, students will engage in a combination of lectures and hands-on laboratory work to develop the practical skills required for their final year. In their final year, students will undertake work-based learning at various partnering companies, applying the knowledge and skills they have gained in real-world industrial settings. This program prepares graduates to excel in the rapidly evolving field of industrial automation, equipping them with the tools and expertise to thrive in the digital and automated manufacturing industries
