Inspiring Future STEM Leaders: Science, Technology, and Innovation 100^3 Program at SMK (P) Methodist, Kuantan

 

On 14th November 2024, the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully organized the Science, Technology, and Innovation 100^3 Program at SMK (P) Methodist, Kuantan. This initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), aimed to inspire 150 Form Three students to delve deeper into the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through interactive, hands-on activities.

The program featured a range of engaging modules designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of STEM, including:

  • Rocket Launcher
  • Popsicle Bridge Stick
  • Arduino Smart Robot
  • Robot Coding
  • Robot Soccer

The program was led by Ts. Dr. Radhiyah Binti Abd Aziz, a scientist from UMPSA appointed by MOSTI, with the support of an exceptional team of facilitators who made the event a success. The facilitators included:

This program serves as a vital platform to introduce students to technological innovations while fostering stronger collaboration between UMPSA and local schools. The activities are specifically designed by FTKPM lecturers to give students practical exposure to STEM concepts, enhancing their creativity and interest in these critical fields.

FTKPM hopes this initiative will ignite students' passion for STEM, inspiring them to pursue careers in technology and engineering. By equipping students with foundational knowledge and skills, the program supports the goal of nurturing a tech-savvy generation ready to meet future industry demands.
