The Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully held the Postgraduate Research Colloquium 2025, bringing together passionate postgraduate students to share their research findings and foster academic dialogue.

A heartfelt congratulations goes to Muhammad Farrish Azran Bin Azuwan (MIZ24008) for receiving both the Best Paper Award and the Best Presentation Award for his outstanding research titled:

“Study on Ultrasonic Shot Peening (USP) Treated Cutting Tool Performance on Turning Process of Aluminium Alloy”

This recognition marks a significant achievement and serves as an inspiration for all postgraduate students in their research journeys.

The Senior Project Showcase FTKPM 2025 was successfully held on 19 June 2025 at the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), UMPSA.

This event highlighted the final-year projects of students from various programmes, featuring innovative ideas and outstanding technical creativity. Visitors had the opportunity to engage with students and explore a wide range of prototypes and engineering solutions developed throughout the semester.

Congratulations to all winners from the IDP, Capstone, SDP, and FYP categories for their impressive achievements and dedication.

UMPBOT at ROBOCON MALAYSIA 2025

The UMPBOT team, proudly representing FTKPM, UMPSA, participated in the ROBOCON Malaysia 2025 National Level Competition, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) since 2002. The event brought together 26 teams from various higher learning institutions across the country.

With the theme "Robot Basketball" and the slogan Team Effort, Ultimate Success, the competition challenged students' abilities in strategic thinking, real-time coordination, and robotic intelligence—aligning with the aspirations of the National Robotics Roadmap 2021-2030.

UMPBOT competed in Group A, facing intense matches against teams from UTM B, USM B, RoboPro, Mechabot, UiTM KBB, and UTEM. Across six matches, UMPBOT recorded three wins and three losses, demonstrating strong competitiveness and commitment in the fields of robotics and mechatronic engineering.

The Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), UMPSA proudly participated in the Temasya Olahraga UMPSA 2025, which took place on 15 June 2025 at Stadium Darul Makmur, Kuantan. Both students and staff members from FTKPM volunteered and competed, showcasing remarkable sportsmanship and determination throughout the event.

Industry Seminar Series 2: Embracing Digital Transformation Through 3D Scanning Technology

 

On 4th June 2025 (Wednesday), the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully hosted the Industry Seminar Series 2 in collaboration with Drawbridge Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd. at Lecture Hall 1, FTKPM.

The seminar featured an insightful sharing session on the application of 3D scanning technology in modern industrial practices. It provided valuable exposure for both students and academic staff, highlighting how digital transformation is reshaping manufacturing, quality inspection, and design processes across various sectors.

During the session, Drawbridge Technologies also expressed their interest in establishing a collaboration with UMPSA, particularly in areas involving knowledge sharing, technical exposure, and potential academic-industry initiatives.

FTKPM extends its appreciation to all participants and to Drawbridge Technologies for their commitment in supporting education through real-world technological engagement.

On May 14, 2025, FTKPM UMPSA successfully organized an Industrial Talk titled "Mechatronics-Refinery’s World of Control". The session was delivered by En. Khairul Akmar Bin Onn, Principal Engineer, Instrument & Control at PETRONAS, who shared valuable insights on instrumentation and control systems within oil refinery operations, as well as the crucial role of mechatronics in today’s industrial landscape.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the students and staff who attended, as well as to En. Khairul Akmar for his informative and engaging session. We hope that participants gained useful exposure to further their professional development and knowledge in the field.
